There are inputs available to connect sources, not on your networks such as a TV, or your PC headphone output, or even a CD or DVD player. The onboard 55W class D amplifiers have plenty of power to match whatever speakers you care to connect, and the sound quality is superb. If one of your rooms already has an audio system, you can save money by purchasing the Sonos Connect (formerly ZP90) instead, which has the same functionality but without the power amplifiers of this unit.

These two items combined would replace the orange mystery box in my diagram.

My question is this: how can I play the second TV's audio through the Bookshelf speakers hooked to my Connect:Amp (and thusly through the rest of the Sonos system)?Ĭurrently, my thinking is to get 1) an optical-out to RCA audio converter and 2) a two-input RCA audio switcher. I've included a crappy diagram that outlines how my system is set up. My goal here is to be able to play the second TV's audio through the bookshelf speakers, since they are already positioned directly beneath it. I also have two Bose bookshelf speakers hooked to the Connect:Amp set up next to the record player, which is right below another TV. I currently have my Connect:Amp set up to use the line-in to play my record player, and it works really well together with the Beam + Symfonisk surround pair in my other room. Edit: my Connect:Amp is the older ZP120 model without Optical In :(Īfter a decent bit of searching, I'm still unsure of the best way to go about solving my problem here: What is the best way to switch between or combine two audio sources (TV and record player) into the single line-in on the Connect:Amp?
